Common Questions

Both the Electrical and Plumbing programs are 600 hours of training. Day schedule students can complete in as soon as 5 months. Evening schedule students typically complete in approximately 7.5 months.

No prior trade experience is required. Both programs are designed to take students from no background to a foundational working knowledge of the trade through hands-on shop training.

Yes. Approximately 70% of the training is hands-on, with students working directly with tools, materials, and systems in our shop labs. You’re doing the actual work — not only watching demonstrations or reading from a screen.

Yes. Many Berk students come from completely different fields — retail, construction, service industries, and more. No prior trade experience is needed. Our admissions team works with career changers regularly and can help you understand what the path looks like from where you are now.

Berk is approved for federal financial aid — start by completing the FAFSA at studentaid.gov, which determines eligibility for Pell Grants and federal student loans.
